What should investors see before taking a small capital raise seriously?
We are raising a small round for a B2B platform. We have early revenue but not enough traction for institutional investors. What should we prepare to look credible?

Show proof that the business can turn capital into measurable progress. I would want use of funds, current traction, customer pipeline, churn or retention, founder ownership, runway after funding, and what milestone this round unlocks. Avoid a deck that only says “large market.” Small raises are taken seriously when the next 12 months are clear.
Investors responded better once we stopped pitching vision first and showed customer evidence first. Even five strong customer conversations helped more than a large market slide.
Be clear on dilution and runway. If the round only keeps the business alive but does not unlock a milestone, investors may wait.
