What risks are often missed when buying a business in another country?
I am reviewing businesses outside Saudi Arabia. The commercial numbers look good, but I am worried about banking, tax, contract transfer, and whether I can manage the business remotely.

Some contract change-control clauses quietly kill deals. Review customer, supplier, lease, and financing agreements before assuming they transfer.
Ask what must happen in the first 90 days after closing. If the answer is “the seller will introduce you to everyone,” that is not enough. You need a real handover plan.
The risk is not only price. Check whether ownership can transfer, whether licenses depend on the current owner, whether key contracts need consent, whether bank accounts can be maintained, and who will manage the operation locally. Also check tax clearance and employment obligations. Remote ownership fails when the buyer assumes the seller’s relationships will automatically transfer.
